Do Not Trust Rocks
(From The Grand Canyon, by Robert Wallace and the editors of Time-Life Books)
Of the Grand Canyon:
Impression of strength
And permanence. As soon as
Man turns his back, rock resumes
Disintegrating, sneaking
Off to California.
Every rock everywhere is
Growing smaller or larger,
Rising up or sinking down,
Creeping around the planet
In a scandalous manner. |
