Blinks and Rousers


Some days ago,
He woke as a scenic wild ghost in
possession of the body of an animal man.
            He ran the day blitzing.

Some days later,
He woke as a sheet holding in its organs,
with his veins backwashing their tributaries.
            He was as with an unwinding, breathless pump.

  Ray Succre is a playwright and poet living on the southern Oregon coast. He has published poetry and short stories in numerous print publications throughout England, the United States, and Canada, and has also appeared in numerous online magazines.
