Jesus

Sometimes he writes in he sky behind airplanes
and makes buzzing noise by my ear
when I'm trying to tie my sneakers.
I've never seen him write anything really,
just long squiggly lines like I did in preschool.

He does crazy things,
like when I go to the bathroom
and the toilet flushes without my help.
Crazy.

He shocked my finger
when I tried to open Mrs. Lipper's candy jar.
I just looked up and shook my head.

Last night my mom got a tattoo
and didn't cry.  I stood there
with her and she didn't blink once.
Not once.  And he didn't talk back
when she yelled his name.

I think it was him who rang the fire alarm
during lunch
and I didn't get to finish those
crunch cheese curls.
I chose to go to recess.

When me and Daniel were running in circles
being tornadoes, he made Daniel fall down
and rip his new pants.  He didn't rip mine
but mine weren't new anymore.
